Hubby and I spent last weekend in the states and we happened to travel on what was U.S. Thanksgiving day.
Upon arrival at the in-law’s condo building, we were greeted by the smell of the most delicious turkey dinner cooking away (actually, the smell was compounded by many turkey dinners cooking in the various apartments). Of course to them, it was the smell of Thanksgiving. But to me, a Canadian who celebrates Thanksgiving in early October, my senses were rocketed into Christmas big time – even with the sight of palm trees swaying under the Florida sun.
And I got to thinking about the familiar smells of the season that we grow to love so much from the time we’re kids. Candy canes, hot chocolate, the aforementioned turkey and the smell of sage, Mandarin oranges, pine and cedar and cinnamon. Oh I could go on…!!!
A good real estate agent will tell you that a home that smells of something sweet is more likely to leave a lasting impression. I can assure you it’s the same for how your guests will remember your home at this time of year.
Pick up ‘The Perfect Christmas’ candle, or associated products from Bath & Body Works and it will become your go-to Christmas scent for your home. The pretty red glow oozes warmth and the blend of cinnamon, orange and spice will make you feel like a kid again.
Welcome to December!!
